Normally, Mikami looks like an average lawyer; suit, white dress shirt and a tie - although with a black trench coat sometimes. He sometimes also carries a briefcase.
He also wears a pair of black framed glasses, is 6’ tall, brown eyes (turned red by the Shinigami Eyes), he has long partially shaggy black hair and weighs 123 pounds.
The way he stands and walks, his social position shows just by this alone. When I read the manga, I could tell that he held a high position somewhere, and then quickly learned that he was a Lawyer.
Personality:
Since being a child Mikami has always had a very strong sense of righteousness, which caused him to want to become a prosecutor. He also has an extremely obsessive personality, as he is obsessed with both Kira and Justice - a perfect combination for a servant of God.
While using the Death Note, he would chant “Eliminate”, as to eliminate the evildoers from society. He is also very loyal to Kira, a loyalty that eventually was broken when Near caught Light.
Throughout his life, Mikami is also a very routine person. He has a schedule and he sticks to it, meaning if he decided to go to the bank every month on the 25th at 6pm, then he will be there promptly at 6.

Abilities/Strengths:
Mikami’s abilities and strengths include: a high intelligence level, good reasoning skills, he is loyal to those he wants to be and is a possessor of a Death Note. In the Manga, Light had to select somebody to be Kira and wasn’t entirely sure about Mikami when he chose him. Although, Mikami very quickly proved his worth to Light. He used his intelligence to select a new “voice of Kira”. And through the “voice of Kira”, Mikami and Light are able to communicate and synchronize who should be judged. And because he considers Kira a God, he is completely loyal and will do anything for him.

Weaknesses:
Through reading the manga, it can be viewed that Mikami doesn’t actually have many weaknesses. The first is that he is overly loyal. As stated in his abilities/strengths he is completely loyal to Kira, although that is a double edged sword because it was the snake that bit him in the end. The other weakness is his routine, he does everything on a schedule. This would allow somebody to exploit that, just as they did in the manga when Mikami was at the gym, Near’s team was able to find the Death Note.

History:
As stated above, since being a child, Mikami has always had a very strong sense of righteousness, which caused him to help defend the defenseless at all costs. This eventually caused him to be bullied heavily because of that. He very quickly began to wish that evil people would be removed from the world, leaving only those that are not evil - and many strange occurrences happened where the people he wished judgement on, had judgement placed on them.
Because of this, he worships Kira as a God because Kira is doing what he wished he could do. Kira eventually chose him to play as Kira’s pawn - passing judgement while he could not. Although initially there are two types of criminals that Mikami is passing judgement on that Kira does not feel judgement needs to be passed. People that had committed past crimes, and the unproductive members of society. Just after receiving the Death Note, Mikami had to choose a new person to be Kira’s Spokesperson, he selected Takada Kiyomi. Working with Kira and Takada, he quickly fixed the problems in his judgement. He also made the agreement with Ryuk for the Shinigami Eyes so he could eliminate anybody as long as he has their face.
However, in the end he and Kira are both tricked by Near, the Death Note was taken and 10 days later he died after going insane.
